Green peas for St.Patrick's Day

We love green peas around here. It was a lazy Friday afternoon when kids and I decided to experiment with our beloved peas - the timing couldn't have been better, just in time for St.Patrick's Day. This green dough definitely multitasked for us today: my budding chefs played with the dough, then shaped the rolls/scones and we obviously got to eat them. I am not going to lie, I was a little sceptical going into this so imagine my reaction as kids reached for the second scone. So here it is, our little pea creation!



Green Pea Scones


2 c all purpose flour

1/3 - 1/2 c agave

1/4 c coconut oil (unscented)

1 tsp baking powder 

1/2 c green peas (pureed)

1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)


Mix flour and baking powder in a large bowl. Add oil and agave, stir. Fold in green peas and continue mixing to form soft dough. Roll out on a lightly floured board. Cut into 6 wedges or let your little chef cut shapes using cookie cutters. Bake for 12-15 min at 400F.
