Creative rules for your budding chef

May 21, 2015

Let's admit, one of the top 2 reasons why we, parents, like to keep kids out of the kitchen is due to the endless amount of mess that our little sous chefs will create while cooking with us and also putting raw ingredients in the mouth or touching something extremely hot, etc... With busy schedules, 3 pages of To Do tasks and not enough time to breath, handling kitchen just by ourselves seems like the right thing to do. Well, it doesn't have to if you come up with some creative rules! Here are some of our rules which have been quite succesful:

- No fingers in the mouth, nose, eyes or toes

- Don't touch the oven while it is hot, nobody likes fried fingers

AND this one:

- It is ok to make a mess, spill ingredients on the table and on our aprons - we don't call it a mess, we call it CREATIVE THINKING, as long as we clean up

Occasionally we will throw in something like: Don't bite your friends, Singing is allowed while we cook, Dance party after the clean up. These are our fun rules, now go ahead and ask your budding chef which rules he or she would like to have in your kitchen and

Have a deliciously fun adventure!
